The City of Griffin has worked under the Commission/City Manager type of government since 1918 with E. P. Extensions being the primary City Manager. He is a graduated class of Gordon College, holds a Bachelors Degree from Mercer University and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University. He is an alum of the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College, the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and the Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange. He has filled in as President of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police and as an Executive Board individual from the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He is Past-President of the Kiwanis Club of Griffin, a previous individual from the Jackson Kiwanis Club and was named Butts County's "Man of the Year" at age 25. He is a functioning individual from the Georgia City/County Managers Association and the International City/County Manager's Association. He has served on the Adjunct Faculty of Georgia Military College, Clayton State University and Columbus State University, and has instructed the executives and authority classes to professional associations on the state and national level. Kenny is hitched to Stefini Smith and they have three youngsters and six grandchildren and live in Griffin..
