After all, well-informed clients are our greatest allies. Source Drinking water Assessment A Resource Water Assessment Strategy (SWAP) is now offered at our office. This is an assessment from the delineated area around the listed sources by which contaminants, if present, could migrate and reach our resource water. It also contains an inventory of potential sources of contamination inside the delineated area and a determination from the water supply’s susceptibility to contamination by identified potential resources. According to the Source Drinking water Assessment Plan, the water system a new susceptibility rating of Medium. If you would like to examine the Source Water Evaluation Plan, please please contact our workplace during regular work hours. Where Will Our Water Originate from? Oconee County imports 95% of the water from the Top Oconee Basin Drinking water Authority’s Bear Creek WTP. The Carry Creek WTP withdraws raw water into the Bear Creek Tank from the Middle Oconee River and Carry Creek. Oconee Region also imports a small amount of drinking water coming from neighboring communities, Barrow County and Athens Clarke County Single Government. We run groundwater wells allowed by the State of Georgia, and we keep an additional 9 enables to withdraw groundwater at reserve places..
