The City of Burlington is very happy to present you with the nineteenth annual water top quality report, also known as the customer Confidence Report (CCR). This report gives our customers having a snapshot of the earlier year’s water top quality. This report contains details about where the water comes from, what contains, and how this compares to standards arranged by regulatory companies. During the calendar year 2017, The City of Burlington delivered an average of eleven. 3 million gallons of water each day through more than 440 miles of drinking water lines. The peak day time was on Mon, May 1 once over 14. being unfaithful million gallons of water was driven into the distribution program. Our goal is always to provide our residents with an uninterrupted flow of safe and top quality drinking water. We want one to understand the efforts all of us make to improve the water treatment process and protect our drinking water resources. We are devoted to ensuring the quality of the water and to offering you this information. The causes of drinking water (both plain tap water and bottled water) include rivers, ponds, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and water wells. As water moves over the surface from the land or throughout the ground, it dissolves naturally-occurring minerals and, in some cases, radioactive materials. These minerals will be carried with the drinking water as “contaminants”. Water may pick up additional contaminants, resulting from vegetation, animal or human being activities. The City gives treatment designed to take out many of the contaminants, specifically any harmful kinds. However, some track amounts of contaminants might remain after treatment. Drinking water, including water in bottles, may reasonably be anticipated to contain in the least small amounts of some contaminants. The existence of contaminants does not always indicate that drinking water poses a wellness risk. More information regarding contaminants and potential health effects can be acquired by calling environmentally friendly Protection Agency’s A safe drinking water supply Hotline at (800) 426-4791..
