About Plum Borough Municipal Authority Summary of Operation, The Plum Borough Municipal Authority was made under the Municipality Authorities Act of 1945 and joined June 7, 1949, to procure, holding, building, improving, keeping up and working different ventures including waterworks, water supply and water appropriation systems. The Authority converged with the Sewer Authority in 1996 and works all wastewater gathering and treatment ventures within Plum Borough. The Water Department works principally a conveyance system and buys water from the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County for resale to its clients. The Plum Borough Municipal Authority works the High School siphon station which is situated on Leechburg Road. The Authority keeps up and works six stockpiling tanks which hold 250,000 ladies. to 2 million ladies. The Water Department has roughly 9,800 clients with 9,700 of those being private. Roughly 70% of the Authority's water lines are more than 20 years of age. The Authority has a capital improvement plan set up and has been supplanting the more seasoned lines all through the Borough. The Sewer Department works a sewage treatment office and keeps up a sewage transmission system inside the Borough of Plum adjusting roughly 10,000 clients. The Authority has one treatment office: the Holiday Park STP-intended to treat 1.52 MGD. The Holiday Park plant as of late has experienced an $8 million remodel. The Plum Creek zone of Plum sewage transmission lines is kept up by the Municipal Authority with the treatment at the Penn Hills Plum Creek Plant. Around 5,000 clients are situated in the Plum Creek watershed. The Authority has a sewer line upkeep program and requires testing of private laterals upon resale..
